Getting a stuck old rusted or stripped lug nut off your
tire.. here are some how to DIY tips.
First thing first.. Safety..
eye protection, gloves and jack stands.. if you have
wheel chalks use em.. keep yourself from getting
killed when this nut comes loose.
First Try a penetrating oil (rust blaster). Spray the bolt
and nut. Now walk away and let it soak in, if its
possible let it sit for hours, or even over night.
If this doesnt work then move on to the next option..
Option 2.. The Breaker Bar.. place the correct socket
to your breaker bar. Remember,to think through
what's going to happen when the nut does come
loose. Dont bust your knuckles, or crack yourself in
Option 3. If the breaker bar didnt work, then take a
long piece of steel pipe, stick it over the end of the
breaker bar to increase your leverage.. give it another
go.. again be careful.
Option 4.. Sucks for you if youve made it this far, but
here is another thing you can try.
Heat it up (gently) and let it cool.. you can use a hand torch..
careful the oil can catch fire so use caution.. after it cools try
again with the breaker bar.
If that dont work Rent or borrow a Torque wrench, sometimes
the vibration will get it to break loose.
If that doesnt work, seek proffessional help. Sorry dude.
Step six... put lug nuts back on
and tighten well. double check to
make sure all lugs are tight..
then re tighten them again.
tep 7... lower jack carefully,
keeping clear of vehichle.
you should be done!
